Twenty per cent of Greater Victoria employers plan to hire in the third quarter of 2011

Twenty per cent of Greater Victoria employers, in all sectors, plan to hire in the third quarter of 2011, according to a survey.

Manpower Group asked a range of employers whether they planned to add or subtract employees in the third quarter, or keep the status quo.

Three per cent of employers surveyed planned cutbacks, equalling a net employment outlook of 17 per cent. Manpower Canada in a release called the number “respectable.”

The outlook for Q2 was 30 per cent, while Q3 of 2010 had an outlook of 13 per cent.
