LETTER: Lower speed limits not the answer to Malahat woes

A recent editorial described the Malahat Drive as a mountain pass. I think this was a bit rich and serves to excuse those who continue to drive inappropriately.

A recent editorial described the Malahat Drive as a mountain pass. I think this was a bit rich and serves to excuse those who continue to drive inappropriately.

While I generally concur with the other comments, the answer is not a lower speed limit as this will often be ignored.

A combination of variable speed limit signage and interval timing with cameras is what is required. This is proven technology and installation could be fast and I believe very affordable.

It is frustrating that we are unwilling to apply technology to benefit society and save lives, not to mention money.
