Letter: Loss of character homes must stop

We must prevent the erosion of Oak Bay's older architecture

Another one bites the dust.

A beautiful old house in south Oak Bay was recently demolished.

Will it be replaced by a boxy architectural blunder, as seems to happening with painful frequency?

Will Oak Bay lose its “streetscapes” one tree at a time and one character house at a time?

I hope future generations will not curse our council and city administrators for not putting a stop to this trend toward residential buildings that look like office buildings.

We do our utmost to prevent shoreline erosion, so let’s do our utmost to prevent the erosion of our beautiful architecture.

It is possible! Yes, we can!
