I do a lot of walking in Oak Bay as I no longer drive.

The state of the crosswalks are a cause of concern to me. Most are completely worn out and invisible to drivers and pedestrians. I can give many examples: Beach Drive and Estevan Avenue, Cadboro Bay Road and Oak Bay High School and many of the crossings on Cadboro Bay Road.

I talked to a staff member of the Oak Bay Engineering department and was told that the repainting project was up for contract. When asked how long that would be he was not sure.

The current state of our cross walks is a danger to both pedestrians and drivers. Let’s get them repainted as quickly as possible.
