re: Faded crosswalks a concern for walkers and drivers (Oak Bay News, July 19, Letters)

I too, have been quite concerned about the unpainted crosswalks in Oak Bay. These are accidents waiting to happen.

As well as my above concern, the streets here in north Oak Bay are in very poor shape, with a lot of crumbling asphalt and lumps and bumps.

We have lived in a modest home on Hamiota Street in Oak Bay since 2007, and our taxes have increased by $1,400 over that time, but no surface infrastructure upgrades have occurred.

I believe that our municipal council has forgotten about many of their everyday responsibilities, instead focusing on “the projects of the day” such as deer, artwork purchase and bicycle lanes.
