Coun. Eric Zhelka hopes to see some red tape rundown before council’s term runs out.

He expects to bring a motion to council seeking a review of the red-tape reduction initiative, that includes public input and ideally report back before the end of this council’s term.

“It would be nice to have some time to look at them,” said Coun. Kevin Murdoch, suggesting a less formal route might work better. “I’d rather just have room to review them than a formal motion.”

Zhelka also plans to bring a motion for council consideration that they establish “a select committee to provide advice to council and the district on environmental matters.”

The next council meeting is June 26 at 7 p.m. in council chambers at 2167 Oak Bay Ave. Visit oakbay.ca to see the agenda ahead of the meeting.
