BC Hydro is on the scene after wires came down on St. Patrick Street earlier today.
Traffic in the neighbourhood is still affected in the 1300 block.
A handful of minor power outtages are reported in adjacent municpalities so far – including 35 residences just north of Cadboro Bay – attributed to the wind.
BC Hydro says damaging winds have caused multiple outages to customers in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and Central Interior.
They expect outages to increase until the winds abate and crews have been dispatched. Exact restoration times would not be available until full damage assessments are complete.
