Two significant thefts, and an accident seeking witnesses.

Thefts

A break-and-enter to a residence under construction in the 200 block of King George Terrace on Nov. 14 resulted in the theft of $4300.00 worth of construction tools.

The Royal Victoria Yacht Club also saw a theft, this one occurring between Nov. 13 and Nov. 15 from the sailing office. The suspect entered the office when no one was present and stole clothing with an approximate value of $2600.00.

Attempted break-and-enters

On Nov. 17, Oak Bay Police received two reports of attempted break-and-enters.

The first was in the 2400 block of Epworth where a male was observed attempting to gain entry to a residence through a side window. The male was unable to gain access and he was last seen riding his bicycle towards Haultain Street.

Caucasian Male, early 20’s, medium build, brown hair, wearing a red jacket, blue patterned pants, black backpack riding a bicycle with no helmet.

The second was in the 1000 block of Beach Drive. The police received a report of an alarm and went to the residence. A door was unlocked and the suspect opened the door setting off the alarm. The suspect did not enter the residence.

Accident

A cyclist reported that he fell onto the roadway in the 3200 block of Henderson Road while riding his bicycle southbound on Nov. 7. A dark coloured vehicle was behind the cyclist, attempted to avoid him, and inadvertently ran over his left arm causing a fracture. The cyclist does not believe the incident was intentional; however, the Oak Bay Police are looking for any witnesses.
