Oak Bay police search for a suspect after a woman walking on Foul Bay Road near Oak Bay Avenue was inappropriately touched

Oak Bay police search for a suspect after a woman walking on Foul Bay Road near Oak Bay Avenue was inappropriately touched twice last evening.

Around 6:20 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 27), a male ran up to a woman and touched her from behind in an inappropriate way. After a few words between them, he did it again, then ran away.

The male is described as a caucasian, 5-foot-7-inches tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds, slim face, no facial hair and possibly dark hair in his late teens to early 20s wearing a dark hoodie and dark jeans.  He may have been wearing a denim vest and carried a backpack.

Oak Bay police say that while the incident has similarities to those reported at the University of Victoria area earlier in the fall, police confirmed the suspect in those cases was not responsible for this one.

Oak Bay police are working with other area police agencies to identify similar offences and a suspect in the ongoing investigation and ask  anyone with information to contact them at 250-592-2424 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
