The Independent Investigation Office (IIO) is among those investigating after a woman’s body was found in Bowker Creek.
The woman was discovered in the waterway near Oak Bay Recreation Centre by a passerby on Saturday morning around 9:30 a.m.
“At this time, there is no reason to suspect foul play, however, a team of Detectives and Forensic Identification Services attended the scene and is ensuring a comprehensive investigation is completed. The Coroner Service is also investigating,” said Deputy Chief Ray Bernoties.
The IIO was notified and took over the investigation as it’s believed local police may have interacted with the person Friday night.
