Bikes and camera stolen, school graffitied

Oak Bay Police are looking into several thefts and a mischief incident at Uplands School.

This is the weekly media release for the week of Aug. 14 to Aug. 20.

Camera stolen

A camera was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight in the 700 block of Mountjoy Avenue on Aug. 14.

Bikes stolen

Two bicycles, a red/black Giant 18” mountain bike and a Red “Old School” Rocky Mountain bike were stolen from a residence in the 2200 block of Dalhouise Street. Oak Bay Police said the owner reported both bikes were stolen sometime over the course of the night on Aug. 15.

Police looking for graffitti suspects

Oak Bay Police is asking for the public’s assistance in determining who is responsible for a mischief that occurred between 11:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. on Aug. 18 and 19 at Uplands School, where someone had spray painted graffiti on the front of the building. This investigation is still ongoing.

Impaired driver suspended

A driver travelling through a roadblock on Cadboro Bay Road and Sherringham Place on Aug. 19 was detained by Oak Bay Police after being caught under the influence. As such, the driver receieved a three-day immediate roadside prohibition, and the vehicle was taken home by a sober driver.
