Oak Bay councillors take on CRD committee work
It’s a busy time to be a municipal councillor.
Already preparing for the upcoming Official Community Plan review, a new Heritage Strategic Plan and a fresh proposal for a replacement for Oak Bay Lodge, a pair of Oak Bay councillors added to their list of secondary duties.
Coun. Tara Ney will reprise her role as the municipality’s representative on the Capital Regional District’s solid waste advisory committee. Coun. John Herbert already sits on a similar committee that deals with liquid waste.
Meanwhile, Coun. Kevin Murdoch has been appointed to the CRD’s inter-municipal climate action steering committee. The responsibilities fit the bill for Murdoch, who already chairs Oak Bay’s environment and regulatory section.
