Thorn & Thistle, a beloved local flower shop owned and run by Alexandra Powell and Nicole Ingram, has just opened their doors at a new Oak Bay location, on the corner of Central and St. Patrick.

This new shop, doubling the size of their last one at Cadboro Bay and Bowker, allows them to add more to their offerings. In addition to their flower business, they have added a coffee shop with baked goods and bulk candy for the neighbourhood kids.

“We have coffee and treats, and candy for the kids. In the summer we will bring in ice cream,” said Ingram.

“We’ll probably expand on the food but we wanted to start simple and manageable,” said Powell

They are thrilled to be open, having worked hard to complete the renovations in time for holiday orders.

They continue to offer their flower subscription service, delivering fresh cut seasonal bouquets each month, which makes a great gift for the hard-to-buy-for. They also prepare wreaths and other festive florals for the holidays, on top of their regular creations for events and weddings.
